WHICH BASE?
One of the main factors in choosing a base system design is
your preference of appearance or durability. Using the
right combination of base design and technology, you can
achieve both.
Full Lace Base
Base system made entirely of
mesh AKA lace material.
Advantage:
Lightest and most breathable
systems available.
Disadvantage: Limited
life-span and frequent
maintenance and repair.
Lace Front Base
The lace material only in the
front and hairline area.
Advantage: Natural
appearance of a full lace
system and lasts longer.
Disadvantage:
Running your fingers through
your hair may cause detection.
Full Skin Base
Base system made entirely of
skin-like
polyurethane.
Advantage: Can be
dyed to resemble your natural
skin tone.
Disadvantage: Not breathable, causing the
system to be hot and less
comfortable comparable to the
lace systems.
Conventional Base
Mesh fabric top with a
polyurethane perimeter for
added stability.
Advantage: Very
common and popular amongst hair
wearers.
Disadvantage:
Can not offer the same
level of appearance as the full
lace, full skin, or lace front
systems.
HAIR VENTILATION
In the hair industry, the term
ventilation refers to the methodology of attaching hair to
its base. There are several types of ventilation,
including (1) the injection method, (2) looping,
and (3) knotting (single, double, and half).
Ventilation Method
Description
Injection
use with remy hair, follicles go
in one direction , skin base
Looping
its skin base can be thinner than
ones used with injection
Single Knot
very little lift to the hair,
ideal for slick-back style
Double Knot
fuller hair, more volume and
height
Half Knot
adds very little lift to the
hair, ideal for slick-back style
